A technology enthusiast from Trinidad and Tobago currently residing in the United Kingdom I am a computer science graduate from the University of Kent. I’m an avid sports fan and enjoy following Arsenal FC in the English premier league, along with football I also like to push myself physically by going to the gym regularly. I enjoy tinkering with technology and have been enjoying experimenting with web development, virtualisation and lately, Azure cloud services. This site is not only my CV but a space to document some of the projects I work on in my free time.


Experience

January 2024 - Present • Wates Group, Leatherhead

Service Desk Analyst

Front facing contact to manage IT requests ranging from break/fix issues, Saas administration, asset management, user onboarding and offboarding.

  • • Employee support using ServiceNow ITSM platform for various topics troubleshooting software,hardware, network, mail, VPN and mobile devices.
  • • Identity and Access Management using ActiveDirectory with the Quest active roles management console.
  • • Powershell scripting for automation of simple tasks and ExchangeOnline.

August 2021 - July 2022 • Wates Group, Leatherhead

Infrastructure Engineer

A year in industry, working in an ITIL managed environment as a member of the infrastructure team responsible for maintaining an estate of over 3500 users and 200 servers. Dealing with third line issues and carrying out dedicated project work.

  • • Managing many different business critical systems in different areas including, Cyber security, Cloud and windows server administration, Identity administration and IT support.
  • • In cloud administration, worked on the Microsoft Azure platform, maintaining infrastructure operating in the cloud and Managed some Office365 applications specifically Microsoft Teams and Exchange.
  • • Being in an ITIL environment, complying with the ITIL best practises for IT Service Management, seeing concepts like change management, in practise helped in grasping these principles quickly.
  • • Teamwork was essential in making this a productive year learning most quickly working alongside colleagues. This was a team of three, who were part of a wider infrastructure team consisting of twelve engineers.

This course covers a wide range of technical skills. Key learning so far:

  • • I have found success in group work significantly improving my time and project management.
  • • For my final year group project, we utilized Azure Paas technologies specifically Azure web apps and Cosmos DB. These technologies were used to create an application where you’d be able to find domestic help.
  • • The computers and the cloud module completed in my first year helped me to grasp concepts like abstraction and the cloud computing model which were useful to me when learning about Azure.
  • • My year in industry which has seen me taken up a great interest in cloud engineering.
